26.2 – Corroded (2026) is a one-of-one original painting by Dan Collins, a.k.a. Mr. Cranklin, created as Day 2 of the “28 Paintings in 28 Days” series for February 2026.

Building on techniques introduced the day prior, this piece expands into a longer, more open vertical composition, allowing structure and erosion to coexist within the same space. Geometric forms rise through the canvas while organic platforms appear to corrode and decay back into the surface, creating tension between construction and dissolution.

Acidic green alcohol inks are layered to create depth and atmospheric movement, interacting with three large circular three-dimensional forms that anchor the composition. These elements simultaneously stabilize and distort the piece, pulling the viewer between control and breakdown, order and corrosion.

Created using a combination of aerosol, alcohol inks, and acrylics, the surface holds dimensionality, texture, and movement that can only exist in an original, physical work.
